Peter T. Holsen

Peter T. Holsen is an non-equity partner at Andrus, Sceales, Starke & Sawall.

Peter concentrates his practice on domestic and international patent and trademark prosecution and enforcement. He provides clients with patentability analysis and opinions regarding patent infringement. He is also experienced in preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications and has drafted technology license and assignment documents and confidentiality agreements.

Peter has worked with a wide variety of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices, including medical patient monitoring and treatment technology, water and wastewater recovery and treatment devices, materials handling equipment, mechanical tools, and heating and refrigeration devices.

Peter is a graduate of Marquette University College of Engineering (B.S. Civil Engineering, 1996) and Marquette University Law School (J.D., 2002). He was an Evans Scholar and Editor-in-Chief of the Marquette Intellectual Property Law Review.

Peter is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin. He is also a registered patent attorney, licensed to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Peter is a member of the American Bar Association and its section of Intellectual Property Law, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Wisconsin Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Milwaukee Bar Association.

Peter also has several years of professional engineering experience working for a global civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm. He served as a field manager on several construction projects and prepared numerous detailed engineering design and cost reports for environmental clean-up and treatment at electrical, petrochemical and chemical facilities.
