
Thomas M. Wozny
Thomas M. Wozny is a partner at Andrus, Sceales, Starke & Sawall and practices primarily in the areas of chemical and mechanical technologies.
Mr. Wozny prepares and prosecutes U.S. patent applications, with particular emphasis in the fields of organic and inorganic chemistry, and drafts patentability, infringement, validity and risk assessment opinions, as well as assists with intellectual property issues relating to mergers, acquisitions, and litigation. Mr. Wozny also has extensive experience in related matters such as the licensing of intellectual property rights, and filing and prosecuting patent applications in foreign jurisdictions.
Mr. Wozny has a broad range of IP experience, especially in the field of chemistry with experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications relating to organic compounds, synthesis of organic compounds, pharmaceuticals, polymers, inorganic compositions, metallurgy, food science, fertilizers, and cosmetics. Mr. Wozny also has extensive experience in various mechanical technologies, with experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications relating to medical implants and devices, fuel cells, small engines, engine components such as fuel delivery system, mufflers, and timing mechanisms, automotive locks, and various industrial processes such as waste combustion, lamination technologies, and mineral processing. Representation of numerous University and educational institutions, particularly the University of Wisconsin, in drafting and prosecuting worldwide patents in the field of vitamin D.
Drafting and negotiating a patent license agreement pursuant to which rights were granted to a packaging process that was central to the launching of a new product line for an existing client.
